St. Peter’s College, an affiliate of the University of Saskatchewan, is located in Muenster, Saskatchewan. Originally founded in 1921 by the Benedictine monks of St. Peter’s Abbey, St. Peter’s College welcomes all students. The College provides university education through classes in arts and science and required classes for students planning to apply for transfer to other colleges.

College Motto
“Begin, Belong, Become”

Our Mission
St. Peter’s College fosters academic excellence, personal enrichment, and social responsibility animated by our Catholic Benedictine tradition.

Our Goals
One of St. Peter’s College’s primary goals is to enable students to attain a high quality university education in a rural environment and in small class settings. The College promotes interdisciplinary learning in a belief that all knowledge is related and must be considered beyond traditional disciplinary boundaries. We promote social activism and environmental stewardship through the Centre for Rural Studies. We believe that healthy bodies foster healthy minds and assist our students to remain physically fit through our competitive or recreational sports opportunities. The faculty and staff of St. Peter’s College strive to model balance between the intellectual, social, physical, and spiritual aspects of life.

The Opportunities
In a recent College review 95% of students said they would recommend St. Peter’s College to their friends. A significant reason for this is the smaller class sizes. Representing all program areas in Arts and Science (Science, Fine Arts, Social Science, and Humanities) our classes never exceed 30 students. We also offer selected second, third and fourth year courses, thereby allowing students to remain at St. Peter’s for much of their degree program, depending upon their area of study. St. Peter’s College also provides classes in Agriculture and Commerce and for pre-Education. Most classes are face-to-face, but we support other modes of delivery such as web-based, televised, and other distributed learning formats. We have a library with over 40,000 volumes and with a delivery service from the University of Saskatchewan Library. Learning is further enhanced in our state-of-the-art computer lab. Further leaning assistance is provided in the Father James Gray Academic Centre of Excellence. St. Peter’s College has its own bookstore, a chaplaincy team for those wishing to explore their spirituality, and a very active Student Government which provides leadership for sports and social activities. Students are invited to explore residence living, but we also provide an off-campus housing registry for Muenster and the near-by city of Humboldt, 9 kilometres west of the College. Students are also encouraged to, and supported in, community volunteerism.
