Application Procedures
Application forms for the 2009-2010
Sequential Program are available after December 1 from Admissions, Undergraduate Programs Office, College of Education, 28 Campus Drive, Saskatoon SK S7N 0X1. The deadline for applications is February 15, 2009.
Admission is based on 60 credit units of external course work, an admission interview, and a short essay. There is a quota system in effect and there are targeted teaching areas for the Secondary program. Saskatchewan residents are normally given priority in admission, except for targeted teaching areas. Current policy is under review; non-residents are encouraged to apply. A Saskatchewan resident is defined as a Canadian citizen or landed immigrant who has lived in the Province of Saskatchewan for at least one continuous year immediately prior to the date you intend to begin classes. RESIDENCY CANNOT BE ESTABLISHED WHILE REGISTERED AS A FULL-TIME STUDENT. If a parent or spouse is a graduate of the University of Saskatchewan, the applicant will be considered a resident. Application forms for the
Post Degree Certificate in Education: Special Education are available from Room 3104, Educational Psychology and Special Education Department Office, College of Education, 28 Campus Drive, Saskatoon SK S7N 0X1. Alternatively, applicants can download an
application form from the website. The application fee is $75.00 Canadian and the deadline is February 15, 2009.
Admission is based on the completion of a Bachelor of Education and a valid Standard A Teaching Certificate. In addition, applicants will be expected to have one year of teaching experience and at least six credit units of undergraduate courses in special education.
