Mathematics & Statistics
The Department of Mathematics and Statistics offers M.Math., M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees with specialization in the areas of algebra, applied mathematics, analysis, probability, statistics and topology. The M.Sc. degree requires a minimum of 15 credit units of course work and a thesis. The Ph.D. degree requires course work beyond the M.Sc. level. Ph.D. candidates in all areas of specialization must write qualifying exams to demonstrate knowledge in any three areas of algebra, analysis, applied mathematics, probability-statistics or topology.
