M.P.T.The following scholarships and awards are open to students in Physical Therapy. Further details are included in the College of Graduate Studies and Research awards database available online, and in the School of Physical Therapy student handbook.
- Arthritis Society. Wallace Graham Memorial Award to a student with the highest aggregate standing on entering final (second) year of program $1,500
- Arthritis Society Entrance Award for academic achievement on entrance to the program $1,500
- Arthritis Society Donald Mitchell Memorial Award for student progresssing to final (second) year of program $1,000
- Arthritis Society Talmage E. Hunt Gold Medal to the most distinguished graduating student at Fall Convocation
- D. Ronald Bell Arthritis Physical Therapy Student Award for student beginning their first year of study in the program Approximately $2,000
- Gold Medal in Physical Therapy awarded to a student at Spring Convocation who meets or exceeds the academic standing achieved by the most distinguished graduating student at Fall Convocation.
- Canadian Physiotherapy Association Award-first year membership to a graduating student with the highest aggregate percentage average in academic and clinical physical therapy subjects during the entire program.
- Paediatric Division of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association Award-first year membership in the Paediatric Division of C.P.A. to a graduating student with the highest academic standing in paediatric physical therapy courses.
- CRHP/CPA Student Excellence Award to a graduating student with the highest academic standing in Cardio-Respiratory Physical Therapy courses $200
- Joan Eaton Memorial Award to a graduating student with the highest average in orthopedic physical therapy courses $250
- N. W. Tymchyshyn Memorial Award awarded by War Amputations of Canada (Saskatchewan Branch) to a student entering final (second) year of program for outstanding clinical proficiency $1,000
- Sally Purdon Memorial Award in Physical Therapy to a student entering final (second) year of program demonstrating financial need and academic achievement in the neuroscience courses in the first year of the program $1,000
- Saskatchewan Physiotherapy Association Prize to a student entering final (second) year of study demonstrating involvement in the profession and academic achievement.
- Director’s Award – a plaque to a final (second) year student to recognize leadership contributions.
- Physical Therapy Student Society Award – a plaque to a final (second) year student to recognize achievements and contributions in areas other than leadership and academics.
- J. Manton Award – a plaque to a graduating student who has shown the greatest improvement in clinical performance.
- V. J. Cottrell Award - a plaque to a graduating student who has made an outstanding contribution to the School, the student body and the profession.
- Marj Braid Bursary in Physical Therapy for two students entering final (second) year based on financial need and academic achievement in the area of orthopedics. Normally two (2) at $1,250 but value and number awarded could vary.
- Elisa Rieder Memorial Award to a student entering final (second) year for academic achievement in courses related to community and aboriginal health up to $1,000 (amount varies)
