Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Music Programs
1. Applicants must have complete secondary level standing.
2. No prerequisites are required for admission to the college however certain university courses require 30-level or Grade 12 (or equivalent) prerequisites.
3. A minimum admission average of 70%* based on the following criteria:
One of:- English A30
- English B30
- English Language Arts A30
- English Language Arts B30
One of:- Mathematics A30**
- Mathematics B30**
- Mathematics C30**
- Calculus 30**
*Students who do not meet the minimum admission average may apply for the
University of Saskatchewan Arts & Science Transition Program.
**Students
may be admitted to the College of Arts & Science with a deficiency in Mathematics. Students must contact the College regarding clearing the deficiency.
A combination of three 30-level subjects from the following categories:- Natural Science (maximum of two)
- Social Science or Humanities (maximum of two)
- Fine and Performing Arts (maximum of one)

Applicants wishing to pursue the Bachelor of Music program must successfully complete an audition, an interview, and a placement examination with the Department of Music. Contact the Department of Music for details, Tel: 306-966-6171.
Special (Mature) Admission is available to Saskatchewan applicants who do not meet the requirements for regular admission.
Transfers from Other Colleges and Other Post-Secondary Institutions
Applicants who have completed 18 or more credit units of transferable post-secondary level studies may apply to transfer and will be considered if the cumulative average on all courses transferable to the College of Arts & Science is at least 60%, and they meet all other admission requirements. Applicants should note, however, that fulfilling the minimum requirements does not guarantee admission.
Admitted applicants transferring from another post-secondary institution will receive a transfer credit evaluation, to be viewed on their PAWS Unofficial Academic Transcript
. This evaluation lists any transfer credits granted based on post-secondary work completed at another institution. Applicants are advised to meet with an advisor in the College to determine the transfer credit applicable to the program of studies being undertaken.
Applicants holding (a) a recognized degree from an accredited university; or (b) a completed 2-year or 3-year Diploma from a recognized technical institution or institution of applied science and technology will be considered to have met the High School admission requirements for the College of Arts & Science. This does not waive specific course prerequisites.
Off-Campus Arts & Science Program
Applicants may be admitted to the College of Arts & Science for study at a number of off-campus sites. These are located at:

Recommended High School Subjects
Program Type AHumanities: A language or languages other than English from the 30-level or Grade 12.
Program Type BSocial Sciences: Mathematics A30 or B30 or C30 and a social science 30 (or equivalent).
Program Type CNatural Sciences: Mathematics B30 and C30 and at least two natural sciences from the 30-level or Grade 12 (or equivalent). To complete the university-level preparation for admission to Dentistry, Medicine, Pharmacy and Nutrition, School of Physical Therapy, and Western College of Veterinary Medicine in the minimum of time, a student must have standing in Biology 30, Chemistry 30, Physics 30 (except Pharmacy and Nutrition programs), Mathematics B30 and C30 (or equivalents).
Program Type DFine Arts: A language other than English from the 30-level or Grade 12 and one of Art 30, Drama 30 or Music 30 (or equivalents). Applicants for admission to the Bachelor of Music program or those who wish to major in music must have an interview, audition, and pass a placement examination.
Course Prerequisites
Certain university courses have 30-level or Grade 12 (or equivalent) prerequisites:
- Mathematics B30 and C30 for Chemistry, Computer Science, Mathematics and Physics courses
- Physics 30 for Physics courses
- Chemistry 30 for Chemistry courses
- Second language 30 for language courses numbered 120 or higher
- Biology 30 for Biology courses

Affirmative Action
The College of Arts & Science has been granted permission by the Saskatchewan Human Rights Commission to exempt Saskatchewan applicants of Aboriginal descent from the Regular and Special (Mature) Admission quotas. Aboriginal applicants who have complete secondary level standing (24 credits) or equivalent with a minimum overall average of 70% in the required subjects and those who qualify for Special (Mature) Admission are encouraged to apply for admission to the College.
Applicants who wish to be considered under the quota exemption
must indicate this in writing and attach it to the application for admission. It is important that Aboriginal applicants identify themselves by including a self-identification letter with the application for admission and annually on the registration information sheet, so that they can be informed about the various support services and registration assistance offered by the college and the university. University of Saskatchewan Arts & Science Transition Program
Applicants whose high school average does not meet the competitive admission average for the College of Arts and Science can apply for the University of Saskatchewan Arts and Science Transition Program. The program offers standard first-year Arts and Science courses off campus in a supportive learning environment at the Saskatoon Public School Division’s Royal West Campus.
