Executive Programs
Throughout the year, the Edwards School of Business offers various
workshops, seminars and programs for managers and executives in both the public and private sectors. By combining the expertise of business leaders with the resources of the Edwards School of Business, these programs encourage effective learning and interaction among the participants.
In late spring, the School offers a seven day residential program,
The Effective Executive. This premier learning experience enables senior managers and executives the opportunity to address current issues and enhance their leadership practices and techniques. The Effective Executive program is designed for both personal and professional growth and renewal.
The Management Development Program consists of a series of independent workshops that focus on specific areas of study. Topics may include business communications, coaching and mentoring, finance and financial management, governance, leadership, relationship management, operations and risk management, marketing, and strategy implementation. This program is for supervisors and managers who are interested in developing new approaches and a broader framework for business decision-making.
The School also offers three non-credit professional development programs in partnership with the Schulich School of Business at York University. The
Masters Certificate in Project Management (M.C.P.M.) is the number one project management certification program in Canada and covers all 9 areas of the ‘Project Management Body of Knowledge' (PMBoK). This program features results-oriented practical learning with top calibre instruction. It has a convenient modular program schedule and format, and prepares participants for PMP Certification and the PMI Exam. The
Masters Certificate in Business Analysis follows the same format as the M.C.P.M. and is aligned with the latest draft of the IIBA Body of Knowledge and will help prepare candidates for IIBA certification. The three-day
Business Analyst’s Course is recommended for anyone who interfaces with the Business Analyst function or who directs systems or business development teams. This is a practical course and covers planning, gathering, communicating and documenting End User Requirements.
As part of the School Outreach and Engagement Initiatives, the
Friday Seminar Series provides an opportunity to hear from leading researchers and ask questions on topics of interest to the business community and general public. The seminars are offered on select Friday afternoons at the Edwards School of Business. Topics are wide ranging and include such titles as
Demographics: Career Pattern Changes and HR Implications, Market Orientation, Business Writing and Organizational Knowledge, Business Strategy and Performance Measurement. There are six presentations in the current series.
In addition to these programs, the Edwards School of Business offers custom training and consulting services to meet specific company needs.
